Fonds Number:
P417
Abstract:

Kipling declines the invitation to write something for the Roger Bacon celebration. He does not know Bacon except from the popular legend, he has no Brewer, and he cannot be in Oxford on the 10th. He is busy and in arrears of works. Kipling asks for forgiveness and for Osler to send his paper on Bacon. Kipling gives him a quotation of Nicholas which seems to him to cover Bacon's outlook. Civilities.
