Fonds Number:
P417
Abstract:

Walker informs Osler that a deputation of students will ask him to put his name as a candidate for the Lord Rectorship of the University. The students are confident of enough backing to ensure his election. Walker mentions that he would have preferred to have Osler in another capacity but would be glad to see him elected. Aberdeen and St. Andrews have elected their Rectors on non-political lines. He does not agree with Osler's position on the Tarriff, but it does not matter. Asks Osler to send his rectorial address.
