Abstract: 

Osler expresses sympathy regarding the death of Dr. Thayer's sister. He gives news of their trip in Scotland. He alludes to a certain exhaustion that is now over. Optimistic expectations for the year to come in teaching. Mention of the visits of Camac, Revere's fishing, expects to see Welch on the Continent. He expects the portrait will be a success. He does not like Halsted or Kelly. Planning to sail December the 10th, spend Christmas in Boston, and work at the Hopkins in January. He is asking him to work on the heart material.
