Abstract:

Due to some schedule restriction from Kraepelin who can only be there if he leaves for Europe on the 19th of April, Meyer asks Osler to arrange to give the address for the opening of the Phipps Psychiatric Clinic before his Yale lectures. The public opening ceremony would be on April 16th. Details on the schedule of the events. Lists of the people who have sent their acceptances. Hopes Osler could arrange to fit his plan. If not, they will have to sacrifice Kraepelin, whom Phipps would like to be present. The opening then would be deferred until about May 1st, and the other persons might have to drop out on account of their university duties. Civilities.

Abstract:

Meyer regrets that Kraepelin had to withdraw. It is necessary, however, from the point of view of other visitors, especially Prof. Bleuler, to keep the date of April 16th to 18th. Glad this arrangement suits him. Mentions that Phipps would have become impatient about the delays. Positive comments on the topic chosen by Osler for the opening address. Civilities.
