Mrs. Oliver, daughter of Sir Charles Tupper, came to call that afternoon. Details about a book "A Modern Sphynx" (James Barry's story), Colonel E. Rogers. Reference to a book by Astruc of Montpellier and Paris. Osler told him of interesting cases in hospital. Allusion to the amusing rhyme pronouncing of Pepys' name. Noted that Osler's red golf jacket is now 16 years old.
