Fonds Number:

Abstract:

Osler mentions that he had cable him asking to postpone his Silliman Lectures until Spring. The pressure of his publishers forced him to work for the last six months on the revision of his text-book. He is mentally used up, and would like to have the winter to prepare his lectures. He had arranged the programme with Stokes: 1. Six lectures on the evolution of modern medicine 2. A general address on "A Way of Life" to the student body. 3. A couple of bibliographical lectures on subjects in which he is interested. He hopes to see Hadley this evening at the Royal Society.
