Hare calls Cushing's attention to the long review of "Life of Sir William Osler" in the New York Evening Post of June 27th. He recalls one of Osler's practical jokes played while interviewing interns in Philadelphia in 1885. He points to an error on p. 237 of volume II of Cushing's book regarding Harrison Allen and Tyson. He informs Cushing that Osler was offered the Chair of Practice in Philadelphia when J.M. DaCosta resigned in 1891. Osler declined the position in person.
