Abstract:

Doyne is sorry that he could not formally announce the time of his resignation of the Readership at the last meeting. It was not a suitable occasion for it. He held on the post this Summer to suit the convenience of the University in the matter of the Diploma course. He was not prepared for all that followed. As requested by Osler, he informed him that he will resign after this term.
