Allen has been instructed by the Vice Chancellor to enquire whether Burdon-Sanderson would consider resuming his post as the Regius Professor of Medicine at Oxford until a successor is appointed. Arthur Thomson has served as the temporary replacement.
The Vice Chancellor agrees with Burdon-Sanderson's suggestion that Arthur Thomson should carry out the upcoming exams in Medicine at Oxford. However, the Vice Chancellor would like Professor Thomson to be under Burdon-Sanderson's supervision.
